Sometimes I wish I could slow down time or speed it up. As a senior, I can remember times when I could not wait for my senior year, but now I am not sure I am ready for it. I can only guess that most people have felt these feelings before. Sometimes it is only as simple as I can’t wait until Saturday. However, sometimes I try to rush things like dating. I am working on trusting God and waiting for his timing.
Psalm 62:5 God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I hope for comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.
Eph. 3:20 God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Eccl. 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.
God knows everything. We need to trust God and his timing, because it is much better than our timing. Ephesians 3:20 says He can do more than we ever dare to dream. Dare to dream. This verse applies to every situation in life. I want God to be the one to tell me it is time. For example, I want to wait until God says it is time to date. God has the just the right guy out there for me, but if I start dating too early I could make some big mistakes that could have been avoided. God is preparing me and my future husband. We are not ready yet, and God knows that. God’s timing is the perfect timing. In everything just wait on Him. While you are waiting, run into his open arms. Take advantage of you time while waiting, use it to grow closer to God. He has you waiting for a reason.
